We are ready to roll out the collaborative REUSE ACME BEACH CLEAN UP BEAN BAGS ! The POP Up sale will be Friday 9/8/2017 from 7am to 1pm @ ACME Coffee roasters in seaside, CA . The burlap coffee bags have been sewn with hemp straps and are 100% compostable . We have 30 bags for our first batch and they will sell for $25 each cash only .

I will also be handing out PROTECT MONTEREY BAY STICKERS donated by Monterey Signs in Seaside. The annual California coastal clean up is September 16th , 2017 , so this is a great time to get educated on the many ways our community can get involved in stewardship of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary ! I will be happy to share the many options that are available to be part of the solution in protecting this beautiful section of the Pacific Ocean .

Original Article April 2017 :

In 2017 Brent Allen Outside committed to taking more of a leadership roll in grassroots stewardship of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary .

I have always been impressed when artist take what could end up in a landfill and transform it into art or for other creative application .

ACME Coffee in Seaside , CA  Gave me my Ah Ha ! Moment  https://acmecoffeeroasting.com.

They offer the used coffee bean bags for a simple donation to http://www.dorothysplace.org

I asked if we could have some bags to create samples for reusable beach clean up bags. Next up was meeting with my long time friend Les Waddel and getting some straps sewn to the bags .

We created a dozen Beach Clean Up Coffee Bags . So I hit Carmel Beach and Carmel River state beach with the new reusable ACME Coffee Beach clean up bag .

People came up to me on the beach and put trash in the bag or wanted to get the 411 on my beach clean up bag.

After picking up plastics and trash I then use the https://litterati.org// to catalogue what was picked up and GPS location .  Next is to simply place the trash in the

appropriate recycle or trash bin . When your done just hang the bag outside . We will be using either hemp or burlap for the straps on the  next group of bags , this will allow for the entire bag to be compostable when it gets to gnarly from use.

I have provided the original bags to different non-profits to put to use: The Wahine Project , Save Our Shores , The Surfrider foundation , and The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary .

Picking up trash from our beaches is a simple way to take pride in your community and allows more opportunities to educate others visiting the central California region .

Be the difference – BAO
